About Bobby Torres and Pindango Records
The STORY BEHIND our clear sound
Bobby Torres launched Pindango Records in 2019 following the building of the Pindango professional recording studio and control room. During construction, Bobby lined up several recording sessions so that he could hit the ground running as soon as the studio was ready.
Among those projects is Afuebe which was released by Pindango Records in May of 2020. This CD is the work of Israel Annoh, master drummer from Ghana. Already this CD has received acclaim from professional drummers such as Luis Conte, Jim Keltner, Alex Acuna, Steve Gadd and also from other musicians such as Don Randi (member of the legendary Wrecking Crew studio band and owner of the Baked Potato in LA) and Derek Trucks of the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Outside the recording control room, Bobby gained valuable experience touring and performing and recording with numerous famous artists such as Joe Cocker Mad Dogs and Englishmen (yes, Bobby was on stage at Woodstock with Joe), Paul Williams, Kenny Rogers, Jackson Browne, Gladys Knight, The Jeff Porcaro Group, The Beach Boys, Oscar Brown Jr., Mark Almond 73 Tour, Tim Weisberg Tour 74-75, Etta James 75 Tour, Yoko Ono, Captain & Tennille ’76 Tour (and was recorded on their hit song “Do It To Me One More Time”) Tom Jones world tours from 80-89 (Bobby was also a musician on videos released during those tours) and Bobby worked with many many more great artists. Bobby made some engineering friends along the way who generously shared their experiences and time teaching Bobby tricks of the trade. Among these greats are Eric Prestidge (with Johnny Bristol), David Z (producer for Prince’s first 8 albums), David Friedlander (engineer for Prince and Pink Martini), Billy Triplet (engineer for Prince, Curtis Salgado, Jerry Joseph and Little Women, and Bobby’s first CD “It’s Heaven I Surmise”), and Ryan Foster (mastering engineer on “Afuebe” – recommended by David Z).
